Introduction
The Guessy ("the App") is operated by Luki Centuri. This Privacy Policy explains how we handle your information when you use the App.
Information You Provide
The App works with chat conversations you explicitly export and import yourself. An imported conversation includes message text, sender names, and timestamps for both participants. To work out which participant is you, the App reads the name in the export filename — an export named "WhatsApp Chat with Alex" tells it that Alex is the other person — and falls back to whoever spoke first when the filename offers no hint. This happens entirely on your device.
How Your Conversation Is Processed
Your imported conversation is parsed and analyzed on your device. To power certain question types, a limited sample of messages (up to a few hundred, selected automatically) is sent to our classification service, which uses Anthropic's Claude API to label messages with categories such as "question" or "apology". This sample contains message text only. Sender names and timestamps are never sent, and before a message leaves your device the App automatically replaces any email addresses, links, and phone numbers in it with placeholders such as [email] and [number]. Each request also carries a device identifier (Apple's identifier for vendor) as a rate limiting key. It is not linked to you or to any account, is not stored by us, is never used to track you across apps or websites, and resets when you delete the App. Classification requests are not stored by us; they are processed and discarded. Our processors may retain a request briefly for abuse monitoring and safety purposes; Anthropic's API handling is described at https://www.anthropic.com/legal/privacy.
Where Your Data Lives
The parsed conversation and its analysis are stored only on your device, protected by iOS file encryption. We operate no user accounts and no database of user conversations. Deleting a chat in the App, or deleting the App, permanently removes that data from your device.
Information We Do NOT Collect
We do not collect your name, contacts, photos, location, Apple ID, or payment information. We do not receive or store your full conversation on any server. We have no ability to browse anyone's chats. The only identifier we ever receive is the per install device identifier described under "How Your Conversation Is Processed", which is not linked to your identity and is used solely to rate limit requests.
Analytics
The App currently uses no third party analytics or advertising SDKs. If privacy focused, aggregated analytics are added in the future, this policy will be updated first.
Third Party Services
Classification requests pass through infrastructure operated by Cloudflare, Inc. and are processed by Anthropic, PBC as described under "How Your Conversation Is Processed". Both process data on our instructions to provide the labeling feature. Separately, the feedback link in Settings opens a page hosted by Featurebase in an in app browser; anything you choose to type there is submitted to Featurebase under their privacy policy, and the App sends them nothing on its own. No data is sold or shared for advertising.
Other People In Your Chats
Imported conversations contain messages written by another person. That content stays on your device except for the anonymized sample described under "How Your Conversation Is Processed". Please be considerate: import conversations to play together, and delete a chat from the App if the other person asks you to.
Children's Privacy
The App is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has used the App with personal information, contact us and we will help remove it.
Your Rights
You can delete any imported chat inside the App at any time, or delete the App to remove all data. Because we hold no copy of your data, there is nothing for us to export or delete on a server. For any privacy question, contact us at rosarylock@pm.me.
EEA, UK, and California Rights
For users in the European Economic Area and the United Kingdom, the data controller is Luki Centuri, reachable at rosarylock@pm.me. We rely on the performance of our agreement with you (Article 6(1)(b) GDPR) to send the message sample that powers the labeling feature, and on our legitimate interest in preventing abuse of the service (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR) for the rate limiting identifier. You have the rights of access, rectification, erasure, restriction, objection, and portability, and the right to complain to your local supervisory authority; in practice almost everything we could give you is already on your device, because we keep no copy. Requests are processed on servers outside the EEA and the UK, including in the United States. For users in California, we do not sell or share personal information as those terms are defined by the CCPA, we do not use it for cross context behavioral advertising, and we will not discriminate against you for exercising your rights.
Data Retention
Data is retained on your device for as long as you keep it. Classification samples are processed transiently and are not retained by us.
Security
We rely on iOS security features including device encryption and file protection, and on HTTPS for all network requests.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Significant changes will be noted in the App or on this page.
